Background
As part of a larger procurement process improvement initiative, an Oil & Gas company needed better visibility into procurement performance. The goal was to track key procurement KPIs across categories, vendors, and internal teams, but no standardized tracking system existed.
What We Did
We built a fully customized Excel tool to support procurement monitoring:
- Designed a performance dashboard tailored to procurement KPIs (e.g., PO cycle time, on-time delivery, vendor responsiveness).
- Automated data processing and report generation using VBA.
- Added tracking logic for exceptions and overdue actions.
- Developed a modular structure that could be easily extended or adjusted by the team.
- Provided documentation and handover training to ensure adoption.
